Massachusetts looks at its candidates

Make sure you have all your facts straight this time around for the governor’s race. The 4 candidates up for election need to be looked at if you live here in Massachusetts. I think after seeing the debate last night my opinion is made. I really am sick of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer and nothing being done on the renewable energy front. We cannot do this to Massachusetts anymore. The wealth needs to be spread around and the future needs to be brighter for the future generations in jobs, education, taxes, domestic issues, immigration and simply wasting my money on vacations given to ousted turnpike authority's! The two candidates that stuck out to me the most and gave a little different spin on looking at the issues were Christy Mihos and Grace Ross.

Chrisy Mihos
Grace Ross
Deval Patric
Kerry Healy

The entire debate seemed to me like Kerry Healy was constantly trying to swat at Deval Patric the whole time on every issue, she seemed more concerned at picking a useless fight with Deval while the other 2 candidates sat and watched. It seemed she exhausted herself over the fear of losing the campaign to him and the fear of losing the republican’s governor’s office. She rudely ignored Christy as he tried to debate her face to face. She thought she was too good to answer his questions and acknowledge the fact that he was in the race at all. Her true colors truly came out, she's a puppet to the government and nothing more, all she cares about is the seat.

Deval Patric seemed to be a strong candidate and did reflect on all issues presented decently, he was respectful and professional - he didn't tap around the issues and came through with strong answers but still made sure to get the dig in to Kerry about her failing administration. The only problem that I have with him is that he is in fact a millionaire and does like to gloat about his wealth. His grass roots campaign just makes me feel like I need to eat wheat. I don't like that word anyway and he wasn't born here. I like his passion for the commonwealth but have a hard time believing that taxes will not go up. A businessman will always try to find the funds to pay for something by cutting something else. As the debate went on it seemed that all he had to do was sit back and watch the other 2 candidates attack Kerry about the big dig - so it was a win win with his lazy infielder approach. Nuf said!

Christy Mihos rocked a little but... Very strong candidate and was born here. He now lives at the cape and owns Christy's markets. He is also a millionaire but seems a little radical. He has some good ideas and has been in office before. I can understand why he got fired from Jane Swift because he is a candidate that won't take ANY crap at all. Not even a little! I liked that trait. He was however against Cape Wind and I just don't see that as being an option. People need renewable energy. I don't care how it is done it needs to be DONE! I am sick of relying on foreign oil and the change needs to happen NOW not tomorrow, not next week - YESTERDAY it needed to be done. We have the tools and the technology - so why not do it. Well it comes down again to money! in my last blog I touted about the rich. They have their hands in everyone’s pocket. If he wants my vote he will need to re-consider the windmills. His TV ads are awesome and tell it like it is and he is completely correct about the big dig. Read more about him...

Grace Ross was a person who I never heard about prior to the debate and that again goes to show you that the millionaires will pay the money to get the commercials on air. People vote according to these commercials, which make me sick. People need to get involved. She has worked in the political realm for many years and has had experience with rubbing elbows with some of these millionaires. She is in complete favor of leveling the tax brackets to reflect a more truthful playing field where the poor will not get poorer. Where the rich will pay their fortunate dues to their surrounding land and country. I love this idea. Instead of cutting things like education simply make the millionaires give what they should be giving. No gluts allowed! I like her views - I lover her level playing field approach and like the fact that she wants to go after the construction companies responsible for the big dig and make them accountable for it and not the people of the commonwealth, but think she is going to drown in the political storm, which I think is completely unfortunate, we need a governor with her views TODAY! She touts her sexuality and I think that she should have learned from Ellen and Rosie that touting sexuality will make people skip over you more easily, that is ruff but it is a sad truth here in our close-minded commonwealth. I could care less but it will only make you work a little harder to get over that stereotypical hump!
