Internet Employment Fraudsters and Scam Artists

Have you ever checked out sites that offer bogus jobs that require you to use your own bank account in order to cash in bogus checks? These people keep asking you to take 10% of the cash amount as commission for your sevice. They tell you to send the rest of the money as a money order to a specified location.

I'm here to warn you not to accept such lucrative offers, even on your worst unemployment day. They look for vulnerable people that need ways to make cash quickly, but in the end you end up being the sucker. If you cash the check into your own personal bank account and money order the 90% through a money order institution like Western Union (for example) you will put yourself in debt. How, you might wonder? If the bank finds out that check you recieved in the mail is a bad check from this supposed bogus employer's clients you will have to pay the bank the 90% you money ordered unwittingly to that bogus employer online.

Autumn Arrives

Submitted by ChuckNugent on Thu, 2006-09-21 22:11. :: TV

Summer is fading.  The days are getting shorter and the weather
cooler.  Crops are being harvested and birds are getting ready to
migrate south.  In the Northern half of the earth winter is coming.
Meanwhile, in the Southern half of the earth the days are getting
shorter and the weather warmer.  Farmers are getting ready to plant and
birds will soon be arriving from the north.

As the earth continues its never ending journey around the sun, the
twenty-three plus degree tilt of its axis causes it to appear that the
sun, over the course of the year, moves from north to south and vice
versa.  During half of the year the sun's rays are concentrated more on
the Northern Hemisphere than the Southern Hemisphere and then it
reverses and shines more on the Southern than the Northern Hemisphere.
It is this apparent movement of the sun from north to south and back
which gives us our ever changing seasons.  It is also how we determine
the official change from one season to another.

My first Haircut

Submitted by Jelloalien on Wed, 2006-09-20 17:27. :: TV

Actually its just my first haircut today but i feel the need to share. :)

My mom is a hair-stylist and is great at what she does with attention to detail and most importantly does not rush through the job just to get it done because she knows its that haircut (especially if its your first with a specific hair-stylist) that will make or break your relationship with the prospective client.

When i was a young wee lad i remember my parents taking me to a local Barbershop. Now to be honest i think i just hated haircuts in general but seemed to me at the time that i hated the barber. For this story we'll call him Sam (actually that was his real name :P)

A Weird Household Tip

Submitted by krystel_monzu on Wed, 2006-05-31 02:50. :: TV

I just want to share a household tip taken from a Korean drama being dubbed and broadcast by our local channels. It is entitled "The House Husband". They gave household tips (and quotes) after every episodes. All the tips were familiar to me except this one (it's kinda unbelievable);

It is about your old cellphone battery(for 1 year use). When the time where your battery is worn out or not functioning well (Even it is fully charged). All you have to do is wrap the battery with a plastic food wrapper and place it in the freezer for 24 hours. And "Presto" your battery is OKAY.

Lostaholics Unite

Submitted by LaLindsey on Thu, 2006-05-25 18:01. :: TV

Needless to say after last night's episode of "Lost" I was a bit confused. Now I love "Lost" but unfortunately most times when I watch I'm multitasking - usually working. So can someome PLEASE explain to me what the heck happened between Charley and Claire? Because I am almost certain the last time they interacted she was still extremely angry with him and still not ready to have him back in her life...?

Next season is definitely going to be interesting ... to say the least. With Jack, Kate and Sawyer captured - who will rescue them?

Also, in the flashback with Dimitri and the other man that he killed - where on the island were they? Those sand mountains didn't look familiar at all. Also, why did Dimitri let Locke take it as far as he did?? Obviously he knew the magnet was real from his last experience with it. And are Locke and Mr. Echo dead? What was the sound/light? What did it mean/do?

Have questions about TV or Home Audio?  Well feel free to ask if you do!  I've been an employee of Circuit City for awhile now and feel farily comfortable with TV and Home Audio FAQ.  Seems like since I started working there I get about 2 calls/week from family/friends needing info on certain products, advice on what to get, or just some simple "whats what" about this stuff.  Anyway...I just thought I'd post up something and offer some help while at it.  Like I said, feel free to ask questions and I'll do my best to answer!!

Hypocrisy, according to Wikipedia, is the act of pretending to have morals or virtues that one does not truly possess or practice. The word derives from the late Latin hypocrisis and Greek hupokrisis both meaning play-acting or pretense.

Why Shows like southpark shouldn't be censored

Submitted by Crimson on Mon, 2006-04-03 09:35. :: TV

For those of you (and this probably applies to about 3 people in deep Russia) who don't know what South park is, Here's a link to wikipedia.

Over the years the show has caused many outcry's from Christian groups and parents (see. Soccer Moms) concerned that the content is offensive and unsuitable for children.

First off, South park has never been marketed as a kids cartoon, and is never aired before the watershed (which, parents, is when you need to be aware of what is on).
