a song for my pain

from Zeromancer

Send Me an Angel...

Do you believe in heaven above
Do you believe in love
Don't tell me a lie
Don't be false or untrue
It all comes back to you

Open fire on my burning heart
I've never been lucky in love
My defences are down
A kiss or a frown
I can't survive on my own

If a girl walks in
And carves her name in my heart
I'll turn and run away
Everyday we've all been led astray
It's hard to be lucky in love

It get's in your eyes
It's making you cry
Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do
You are looking for love
Calling heaven above

Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now
Right now

Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now
Right now

Empty dreams can only disappoint
In a room behind your smile
But don't give up, don't give up
You can be lucky in love

It get's in your eyes
It's making you cry
Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do
Looking for love
Calling heaven above

Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now
Right now

Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now
Right now

It get's in your eyes
It's making you cry
Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do

Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now
Right now

Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now
Right now

Send me an angel
Following The Music!!

I have been signing and playing guitar for well over three decades, and writing and performing for a good twenty of those years. Typically a solo act, I have been billed as softsounds. That is an accurate description of what I do--an acoustic, unplugged genre with an eclectic blend of styles that include easy listening, jazz, folk, soft rock, blues, and country. Perhaps, then, you can see why it is easier to simply call it softsounds.

I have returned to the studio for the first time in over ten years. After selecting eight to ten of my more recent compositions, I have laid them down on a CD in a 'live' version that includes no over-lying tracks or 'add-ons'. Just live, without the audience.

The Story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Fate is a funny thing. A person can focus on the big things only to
see those achievements largely forgotten as people remember them for
something that, at the time it was accomplished, seemed small and
inconsequential. Other times fate will strike a person who possesses
only modest goals and catapult that person's creation to greatness.Take Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Mention his name at Christmas time and practically everyone in the
world knows his story. But, where did Rudolph come from?

Yes, you might know me for having posted an article on "Internet employment fraudsters and scam artists". I am here to just add on to this subject by giving people a well known link that might save people from participating in illegal internet money laundering scams unwittingly. Although there is a wealth of information out there for everyone's public viewing, I think it is important to take note that these warnings can be taken for granted. I am providing another link that people maybe interested in using for research purposes on this critical topic.

THE LINK IS: http://www.scamfraudalert.com

Internet Employment Fraudsters and Scam Artists

Have you ever checked out sites that offer bogus jobs that require you to use your own bank account in order to cash in bogus checks? These people keep asking you to take 10% of the cash amount as commission for your sevice. They tell you to send the rest of the money as a money order to a specified location.

I'm here to warn you not to accept such lucrative offers, even on your worst unemployment day. They look for vulnerable people that need ways to make cash quickly, but in the end you end up being the sucker. If you cash the check into your own personal bank account and money order the 90% through a money order institution like Western Union (for example) you will put yourself in debt. How, you might wonder? If the bank finds out that check you recieved in the mail is a bad check from this supposed bogus employer's clients you will have to pay the bank the 90% you money ordered unwittingly to that bogus employer online.

The Genundowa Autumn Light Festival on Canandaigua Lake

Canandaigua Lake lies nestled in the hills of Western New York State. It is the western most of the five Finger Lakes that stretch part way between Lake Ontario and the Pennsylvania border in Western New York. When I was growing up, the five largest lakes - Canandaigua, Keuka, Seneca, Cayuga and Skaneateles - were known as the Finger Lakes despite the fact that there were other, smaller, slender lakes with a north - south orientation, in the vicinity. Today, I believe all of the lakes are called Finger Lakes.

In the 1995 movie The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain, a town in Wales is horrified to discover that their mountain, the first mountain that one encounters after crossing the border into Wales from England, has shrunk and is about to be re-designated a hill on official maps. Rather than standing by while bureaucrats in London demote their mountain to mere hill status, the residents of the town make inquiries to learn the difference, as defined by the London bureaucrats, between a mountain and a hill. After discovering that their mountain, err hill, is short by relatively few feet, they go to work hauling dirt and rock up the hill. After working feverishly around the clock (the project had to be finished before the survey team from the office that is concerned with precisely defining the difference between a hill and a mountain (no facet of life is too trivial for politicians to throw tax dollars at) moves on to measure the next town's mountain for proper height. Of course they succeed and the new measurement shows the addition to have put the height a couple feet or so past the point that separates a mountain from a mere hill. The movie ends with the whole town happily celebrating and the cartographer from London falling in love with a local girl (even mountain killing bureaucrats have feelings). However, for those who hung around until the very end there was a sad note - posted between the name of the gaffer's wife's hairdresser's boyfriend and the copyright notice - announcing that the mountain was again measured a few years ago and found to be lacking. This time everyone just stayed home watching TV while the bureaucrats re-designated the first mountain in Wales to the first hill in Wales.

Fingerpicking 101

Below is an introductory article on fingerpicking. You can view the complete lesson, with videos, by checking out the ActoGuitar lesson on fingerpicking.

What is Fingerpicking?Fingerpicking is simply the practice of using fingers to pluck notes and chords instead of using a pick. It is commonly seen in folk/blues/bluegrass songs, and is used almost exclusively on acoustic guitars. Fingerpicking ultimately provides three key advantages:Speed. Once you become adept at fingerpicking, it can actually be a faster way of playing notes/chords within a musical piece. Think of it as having access to four picks simultaneously rather than using just one pick.Simultaneous Notes. Fingerpicking also allows you to play chords that involve skipping strings. For instance, suppose you want to play a chord that involves playing only the fifth, second, and first strings; the other strings cannot be touched. Such a chord would be impossible using just a pick; fingerpicking is needed to play it.Distinct Quality. Fingerpicking produces a sound that has a distinct quality to it -- a sound that is different than what is produced by using just a pick. In some instances, you may find the quality of the sound produced by fingerpicking to be preferable to that produced by a pick. Using the Right Fingers Unlike most guitar playing techniques, fingerpicking is trickier than it seems. It generally requires a fair amount of practice to master. Of course, the rewards are well worth the effort, as fingerpicking can add a new dimension to any guitarist's arsenal. The first point to note is that each finger is assigned a string or strings for which it is responsible to pluck when fingerpicking. As a general rule of thumb, the protocol should only be strayed from when absolutely necessary. You'll notice that the pinky finger is not used; it is unnecessary to use it in virtually all musical pieces that call for fingerpicking, and hence it is best left out of the mix.
