How to Detect and Prevent Phishing Scams

Overview of Phishing Scams

The unique purpose of a Phishing scams is to obtain your sensitive information to do frauds. Scammers send mass emails to every address they can find. Typically the email will appear to come from a bank or financial institution. It is e-mail content to prompt you to update your information for some reason, and they usually provide a link that you can click to do so. This all sounds reasonable and it may look legitimate; phishing scams are anything but legitimate. The link provided does not take you to the financial institution’s website. Instead, you’ll be submitting your information to a website run by the scammers.

Internet Explorer 7 Problems

If you are having IE7 problems like crashing, closing down, etc., then you might like to try resetting it.

The option to reset IE7 is hidden away:

Left click your way through: Start, (Settings), Control Panel, Internet Options and then the Advanced tab. At the bottom you will find the Reset button (it wasn’t there before IE7).

Left clicking the reset button will take away all of the changes that have been made to IE7 since it was installed, but that is probably no bad thing. Perhaps it is one of those changes that is creating the problem.

Before you try IE7 again I suggest that you restart the PC. Hopefully this will have solved your problem - but no guarantees!

It would be nice to be able to uninstall IE7 and then reinstall it, but that is not an option for Windows Vista users. Windows XP users can uninstall IE7 (and go back to IE6) and they could then download and install IE7 again from the Microsoft website.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrats lead in races for 11 of 15 crucial Republican-held U.S. House seats a month before November 7 elections, putting them within reach of seizing control of the chamber, according to Reuters/Zogby polls released on Wednesday.

Republican incumbents are at particularly high risk, the polls found, with seven of nine trailing their Democratic challengers in the high-stakes battle for control of the U.S. Congress.

Bold, and Bolder

While cramming for a very important test, my roommate and I realized we
needed food, but we none at the apartment. We ran to the closest places we
could think of - Dominos, Quiznos, etc - but they were closed. Pressed for
time, Odette and I decided to try this strange Brazilian place that was right
across the street from our familiars. It was modern style, and it was a very
high-class place, which made us college students in our pajamas feel out of
place. We didn't care, because the test was more on our minds than our
appearance.

The most exotic and beautiful waiter came up to us and listened to our
story: "we have a test tomorrow, we need food. What's the fastest thing you
have?" He was polite and understood our situation. He gave us a
recommendation, but we realized we didn't bring any money because we were in
such a rush. He told us that our school has a special deal with them that we
get 20% off our purchase, and so we were in luck.

How to Make Money Writing on FusePress

Writer Jelloalien, in a recent post, asks why, after 11
days, he has yet to make so much as 1 cent off of his writings and he
further questions whether or not it is possible to make money on
FusePress. Speaking for myself, the answer is "yes" as, after 6 weeks,
I have made $4.73 from FusePress. However, it does take time as money
is only generated when someone first clicks on your post, then clicks
on an ad. Further, since ads containing your Adsense account number only appear half the time with the other half the time the ads contain Todd's Adsense account number, you only get paid when a click on an ad occurs when the ad contains your account number.

Rumor Has It... - A Sexy Movie without Sex

The movie Rumor Has It...,
staring Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Costner, is a delightful comedy
about love and sex. However, even though the central theme is sex, the
movie not only artfully has the characters tiptoe around discussing the
subject, it also has only two bedroom scenes that are sexually charged
but lack any on screen depiction of sex. Like the 1968 movie, Prudence and the Pill, staring David Niven, the viewers know what is going on in the bedroom but have use their imagination to visualize the action.

Celebrity Fascination

Have you ever sat down and thought about why people, like you and me, are so fascinated with the lives that celebrities live? Why do you think that is? Is it because they live such extrordinary lives? Is it because they have what we want (and, for most of us, are unable to obtain)?

There are so many paparazzi in the world making livings by snapping just a snip-it of someone famous's life while they are eating a hamburger, shopping at the local supermarket, or exiting a club. What makes us read this? What makes the newpapers and magazines pay top dollars for ordinary people who happen to be in a few movies, sing a few songs, or something infamously wrong.
