There is nothing like the right comment to end an argument and this story, which a friend shared with me, has it.   Enjoy!

A young boy had just gotten his driver's permit and asked his father if  they could discuss his use of the car.   

His father said he'd make a deal with his son. "You bring your grades up from a C to a B average, study your Bible a little, get your hair cut, and we'll talk about the car."     

The boy thought about that for a moment, decided he'd settle for the offer and they agreed on it.

Perhaps I am niave in affairs of politics and religion. In fact I know I am. So perhaps someone can tell me why we are wasting tax payer's money in order to decide if two men or two women should be allowed to get married. Who the hell cares? If a guy sees another guy and says "I want to bang that ass for the rest of my life" or if a girl sees another girl and says "From now unitl I die, I want to munch on that carpet". (Folks it stupid humor just roll with it) why should I give two shits?

Now I know some of you hard core republicans are going to spout out about "family values" and the decline of or America's morals, which is fine, as long as you can back up that statement with scientific facts, how gay marriage is going to destroy the American family unit. Because frankly I really can't see it. Let's look at a quick statistic taken from National Vital Statistics report dated 2004 (sorry folks I tried to find 2005, but was running into a wall searching). They state that in 2004 there were 3.7 divorces and 7.8 marriages, so you are roughly looking at a 47% divorce rate in our society. In fact our divorce rate in this country has nearly trippled since the 40's (stat taken from Office of Child Support Enforcement). So am I to believe that gay people are the reason for this increase of divorce in heterosexual marriages? Do you seriously want to sit there and tell me some guy watched two gay people and turned to his wife and said "Honey, I want a divorce"?
